CONGRATULATIONS are in order to Metaltec SIL Division Three club Alstons - and to their groundsman Rob Woolnough.

Their playing surface at Leslie Road has long been regarded as one of the best in the region - and this has been officially recognised.

Alstons have won through to their category national finals of the groundsman of the year awards.

MARK Harvey also deserves congratulations as all being well he will be clocking up his 500th appearance for Salvation Army in their SIL Second Division match against AFC Hoxne at Chiltern Fields, Stowmarket.

LAST week's item on the Achilles reunion dinner omitted the date of this year's event. It takes place on Friday, May 18 at Paul's Sports Club, Salmet Close, Ipswich at 7.30pm.
