U14s finally get a win

Cricket: SUFFOLK under 14s won their first game in two seasons with a five-wicket victory against Bedfordshire.Their opponents won the toss, batted first and made an impressive 259 for seven declared despite two wickets from Mark Nunn and Craig Estlea.

Their opponents won the toss, batted first and made an impressive 259 for seven declared despite two wickets from Mark Nunn and Craig Estlea.

Despite the large target, Suffolk started well with Joe Butler and Shane Leech putting on 68 for the first wicket. Oliver Wade replaced Leech and another large Suffolk partnership of 75 followed. Butler eventually fell for 70, Wade scored 39 and an unbeaten 56 from Peter Clarke saw Suffolk reach their total after only 44 overs. Suffolk are next in action on Sunday when Buckinghamshire are the visitors to Culford School with the match starting at noon.
