Ipswich Wanderers chairman Terry Fenwick and manager Glenn Read celebrated their side’s 2-1 FA Cup victory over Hoddesdon Town at Humber Doucy Lane, by taking the MND (Motor Neurone Disease) Ice Bucket Challenge!

Goals in either half from Craig Jennings and Darius Laws put Wanderers in control before Louis Bowen’s goal in the sixth minute of stoppage time ensured Wanderers’ path to the First Round Qualifying stage would be a nervy one.

Read agreed to take the challenge should his side progress after being nominated by one of his players, Jack Severy, and chose Archant sports reporter Chris Brammer, Nick Pope and Fez snr to take the challenge next.

Fenwick, nominated by Guy Baker and Lorraine Kett challenged Needham Market-based singer Chelsea Francis to gather together her father Nick Francis, along with Graeme Emmerson and manager Mark Morsley, from Needham Market FC to be the next victims.

Wanderers travel to Ryman Premier club Wingate & Finchley in the next round on September 13.

Elsewhere in the competition, Felixstowe & Walton shocked Ryman North outfit Ware on their home patch, 3-0 and Hadleigh United won 3-1 at Burnham Ramblers.

Whitton United lost 2-0 at home to Haverhill Borough, who will now host Leiston in the next round.
