IPSWICH Wanderers have a vital Jewson League Premier Division game tonight when they take on FA Carlsberg Vase quarter-finalists Wroxham at Humber Doucy Lane.

And secretary Martin Head says that the situation is getting desperate for his third-from-bottom club.

"At the moment we are relying on the two sides below us – Swaffham and Felixstowe and Walton United – to keep losing," said Head.

"Our situation is getting desperate with only one win in seven matches. Our performances in recent games have not been too bad but there has been no end product in terms of points.

"Wroxham will be a tough test but we must try and wrestle something from the game. On Saturday we face a real crunch when we visit Swaffham."

Head admits that Wanderers have mentioned the availability of Tony Kinsella, who resigned as Ryman League Witham Town manager last week.

"It is speculation at the moment and we will have to wait and see on that one," explained Head. "Our manager Alan Dilloway is doing well with precious little resources."

David Head (foot knock) and Mark Goldfinch (university duties) are both doubtful for tonight's match.

Felixstowe play Bury Town at Needham Market tonight with the winners playing AFC Sudbury in the final of the Suffolk Premier Cup on May 6.
