WANDERERS secured a comfortable win to progress to the next round of the FA Vase. Yaxley failed to break down Wanderers resolute rear guard of Goldfinch, Bell and Cattermole and as a result the home side dominated the game.

The wing play of Jermaine Harewood caused the visitors several problems and it was from a well earned corner Glyn Roberts put the hosts in front on 16 minutes. He netted with a strike through a crowded penalty area.

Howell and Roberts could have added to the lead before the interval but Ward in the visiting goal produced two good saves.

Early in the second-half Howell shot just wide but he soon made amends when he finished off a move with a shot which gave the visiting keeper no chance. Yaxley continued to push forward but failed to create the chances needed to reply and only their keeper Ward denied Howell and Hetherington adding further to the scoreline.
