Colchester United boss, Joe Dunne, admits that his team are "going through a tough time at the moment," following today's 3-1 home defeat to Peterborough.

The U’s suffered their fifth defeat, in six league and cup games, after conceding two goals midway through the second period to Conor Washington and Ngosi Ntlhe.

Freddie Sears pulled a goal back in the second half, but Jermaine Anderson made the game safe for Posh by tapping home a late third.

“We are doing OK in a lot of moments in the game, but I still think we can do better,” insisted Dunne.

“I’m pleased with the response of my team, to going 2-0 down, and also the impact of my substitutes.

“But concentration moments are letting us down, as with their first two goals, although their third came against the run of play when we were pushing forward in numbers.

“We are all going through some tough moments, but we have also been playing some top teams who will be up there at the end of the season.

“Defensively, I think we can do a lot better, and we are going through a tough time.

“But I think we are close to gettign that first win,” added Dunne.

The U’s are currently second-from-bottom, after taking just one point from their first five league games. Crewe are rock bottom with no points.
