COLCHESTER United boss Aidy Boothroyd knows that his side are starting to develop a reputation.

The Essex club beat Leyton Orient 1-0 at Brisbane Road on Saturday courtesy of Kayode Odejayi's second-half header to move up to third in the League One table.

The result means Boothroyd has now gone seven games undefeated since taking over at the club, while his team have kept five clean sheets in that spell.

“We are developing a reputation and with that comes different problems. I wouldn't want to play against us because we've got a little bit of everything providing everyone does what's required.”

Odejayi will claim the headlines again following his fourth goal in three matches, but Boothroyd was quick to praise everyone.

“I thought John-Joe O'Toole was excellent, not only him but all of my players, even those who came off the bench. It's not always easy to come on, but they were excellent.

“Clive (Platt) is a terrific footballer also. He creates that extra bit of room for everybody else and Kay (Odejayi) will be the first person to say Clive is good for him.”

He added: "It was a hard win and I'm pleased because Leyton Orient are a good side.

"This game could have gone either way, but we managed to keep the clean sheet and get the goal.

"When you don't take your chances you are always worried that you might go home with nothing, but we managed to ride our luck and defended well.

"My job is to win matches when we are not playing particularly well. You probably only play well for eight or nine matches a season and the rest of the time you've got to learn to win in other ways."
