WEST Suffolk College is certainly taking the lead in youth football.
The Bury St Edmunds-based College was the first football school of its kind to operate in Suffolk. This season the Bury Football School has 16 full-time girls enrolled.
To mark this historic move a game was played on Wednesday night between the Bury girls and a Merseyside Select XI at Bury Town's ground at Ram Meadow.
Former England Ladies captain Mo Marley, who is connected with Everton, coached the visiting team.
Women's football is growing considerably every season, and the Ipswich Town Football in the Community staff put on a demonstration coaching session with local girls during the half-time interval.
