The 21-year-old midfield player played a crucial role as the Blues relegated Rotherham and moved three points above third-placed Wigan with a 4-3 victory at Portman Road last night.
Rotherham put up some stern resistance, helped by some below-par Town defending, before Ipswich were able to collect their 13th point from their last five matches.
Sunderland's amazing winning run continued with a 1-0 victory at Wigan and they now look favourites to take one of the two automatic promotion places out of the Championship.
