AFTER the disappointment of having last night's Elite League meeting at Belle Vue postponed due to a waterlogged track, the Evening Star Ipswich Witches hope to be back in action tonight as they travel to Peterborough.

This was supposed to be the second leg of a quick-fire Elite League double with the Panthers, but with Monday's meeting at Foxhall being rained off, this will now be the first leg.

Simon Stead from Belle Vue is Ipswich's guest for Mark Loram.

The fast Alwalton bowl may suit the likes of Marcin Rempala a little more, but the East of England hasn't been a happy hunting ground for the Witches in recent years, although they did pull a rabbit out of the hat in 2005 when dry, dusty conditions saw them romp home. Dry and dusty is one thing it is not likely to be tonight.

Teams

Peterborough: H Andersen, L Dryml, N Kristian Iversen, P Swiderski, K Bjerre, D King, R Hall.

Ipswich: S Stead, K Jansson, C Louis, Z Suchecki, R Miskowiak, M Rempala, T Kroner.

n Fredrik Lindgren has been named as the wild card for the Swedish speedway Grand Prix at Eskilstuna on Saturday, May 26. Jonas Davidsson and Eric Andersson are the two reserves.
