TONIGHT is the night for Tom P Madsen to stand up and be counted.
The Ipswich Evening Star Witches management put tremendous faith in the 25-year-old Dane when they signed him on loan from Berwick last winter.
They had had enough of low scoring reserves, with the likes of Savalas Clouting, Jason Bunyan, Carl Baldwin – and even Danny Bird and Leigh Lanham last season – struggling to impress over the last few years in the six and seven race jacket.
Madsen was brought in with a 5.42 average to work with Bird and Lanham and give the Witches some bottom end bite.
