WOODBRIDHE Golf Club has joined the 2007 Suffolk county card scheme which involves a reciprocal arrangement with 80 other participating clubs in Norfolk and Essex.

More than 1,000 golfing members of Suffolk clubs enjoyed the benefits of a county card last year.

They are available to men, ladies and juniors who are members of participating clubs and in possession of a Council of National Golf Unions' handicap.

The cost is £15 and opens the door to reduced green fees at more than 100 clubs, although most will not accept county cards on bank holidays or weekends.

Clubs should be contacted in advance to ensure the course is available for play and to check the exact cost of a green fee. Clubs may well ask to see a handicap certificate.

Participating Suffolk clubs are Aldeburgh (foursomes and singles only), Beccles, Brett Vale (soft spikes only), Bungay, Bury St Edmunds, Cretingham (weekends after noon), Diss (summer weekends after 2pm), Felixstowe Ferry (no restrictions on nine-hole course), Flempton, Fynn Valley, Gorleston, Hales-worth (no restrictions), Haverhill, Hintlesham (weekends in summer after 2pm), Ipswich (now accepting players from Norfolk and Essex), Newton Green, Rookery Park, Rushmere, Seck-ford, Southwold, St Audry's, St Clement's, Stoke-by-Nayland, Stow-market, The Suffolk, Thorpeness, Ufford Park, Waldringfield, West Suffolk (no restrictions) and Woodbridge.
