DAVID Wright had no excuses after his under-hit back pass resulted in Stephen Ward scoring Wolves' Championship winner at Portman Road last night.

“It was a big error by me,” said the right back signed from Wigan in the transfer window. “My mistake cost us. And I hold my hands up and take the blame.

“It was a poor pass and left Lewis Price a long way short. You cannot make individual mistakes like that.

“The result was tough to accept as the team worked so hard. We need a slice of luck - a break. We need three points.”

Goalkeeper Lewis Price made a number of good saves and was busier than his opposite number Matt Murray.

He has made the Town goalkeeper's jersey his own after Shane Supple was handed the number one squad number in the summer.

“I knuckled down and worked hard after the gaffer made that decision,” said Price, who confirmed he is now fully fit.

“I was carrying a thigh problem and was managing it through the Christmas matches. It was sore after our game at Crystal Palace and was sent back from the Welsh squad. But now it is fine.

“The ball is not running for us, and looking on from the other end of the field I am sure it will not be long before we start scoring freely again.

“We have to put a line under last night, and now concentrate on Southampton.”
