From Latitude to Folk East, festivals are truly back in Suffolk this summer - but which ones will you be heading to?

Here are our seven suggestions for some of the best festivals coming up across the county over the next few months.

Ranging from Primadonna at the Museum of East Anglian Life, to Red Rooster at Euston Hall.

Latitude

Arguably Suffolk's most popular festival, Latitude will be allowed a full capacity crowd of 40,000 spectators. This is because it has been agreed the festival at Henham Park will be one of the government's programme of test events during the roadmap out of lockdown.

Headliners at this year's Latitude include Bastille, Wolf Alice and the Chemical Brothers - with comedy provided by Simon Amstell, Katherine Ryan and Reginald D Hunter.

Latitude will open its gates from Friday, July 22 to Sunday, July 25 - ticket information and more can be found on their website.

Primadonna

Coming very soon to the Museum of East Anglian Life in the centre of Stowmarket, Primadonna is a literary festival aiming to celebrate "the world as it should be for one weekend".

Comedian and writer Sandi Toksvig, will be joined on the all-star line-up by Bridgeton actress Adjoa Andoh, food critic and MasterChef judge Grace Dent, and author Adele Parks.

Primadonna are offering a ' pay what you can offer' and ticket information can be found on their website - primadonnafestival.com. The festival will run from Friday, July 30 - Sunday, August 1.

FolkEast

Organisers of FolkEast at Glenham Hall are cautiously moving forward with their plans to hold their popular festival from Friday, August 20 to Sunday, August 22.

Their aim is for festivalgoers to: " Come together again, confidently in a safe environment, to enjoy first class music in good company."

Red Rooster

The popular Red Rooster festival at Euston Hall in Suffolk will be back over the summer Bank Holiday weekend - starting on Friday, August 27.

As well as the music line-up Red Rooster offers river swimming, pedalos and den making and of course plenty of space if you fancy pitching up a tent!

Nearly Festival

Suffolk dates for the Nearly Festival have had to be shuffled due to delay to the easing of lockdown, meaning the festival in Ipswich has been delayed until 2022.

The Nearly Festival's tribute acts and family fun will still be coming to Oulton Broad on Saturday, August 14 - Sunday, August 15 and Bury St Edmunds from Saturday, September 4 - Sunday, September 5.

Venue16 Music Festival

The Venue16 Music Festival and Family Fun Day in Ipswich is aiming to support those in the events industry that have struggled over the past 16 months.

On their website organisers say: "We're dedicating our music festival to supporting local musicians, so we've got an amazing line-up of Suffolk acts."

Suffolk musicians on the bill for the festival include award winning Connor Adams and Underline the Sky that have previously played V-Festival.

Venue16 music festival at 312 Tuddenham Road, will start at midday on Sunday, August 8. Tickets priced between £6.98 - £13.37 are now on sale.

Maverick Festival

Billed as the UK's " first and finest Americana music festival" the Maverick Festival at Easton Farm Park is back for 2021.

Camping is available at Maverick and you can even bring your own camper van. For those that don't want the hassle of putting up a tent you can hire a bell tent or tipi.

Maverick runs from Friday, September 3 and up-to-date information regarding tickets and coronavirus restrictions can be found on the festival's website - maverickfestival.co.uk.

Head East
