IPSWICH-born housemate Darnell has been elected as Big Brother's first-ever Head of House by his fellow contestants.
The singer and songwriter beat competition from Dale and Luke to claim the honour, which saw him gain nine votes compared to three and two for Dale and Luke respectively.
Big Brother also revealed that the house will now be split in two - into Heaven and Hell.
New house ruler Darnell then had to choose six housemates to join him living in Heaven, while the rest of his subjects would be consigned to perdition.
He chose Dale, Rex, Mohamed, Kathreya, Rachel and Maysoon to join him, leaving Belinda, Lisa, Luke, Michael, Rebecca, Sara and Stuart to dwell in Hell.
Those living in Heaven are the only ones with access to the luxury bedroom and bathroom, and will solely be allowed to exchange or use tokens.
In Hell housemates will have to use the basic bedroom, shower in the garden and have use of the kitchen - but they must prepare food and drink for their heavenly superiors.
All were warned that anyone who attempts to cross the divide will be punished.
