“I’ve just finished my tour of the UK but looking forward to getting out there to see you all again - and this time in the sun,” says chart-topper Jessie J who’s headlining East Coast Live on Saturday, June 28.

Joining her will be Rizzle Kicks, top UK girl group The Saturdays, X Factor stars Union J, band to watch The Vamps and Jason Derulo who is jetting in from America to play one of only a few outdoor UK tour dates for 2014.

Even more acts are set to be revealed over the coming months.

The event is being brought to town by AEG Live, the live entertainment division of AEG. One of the world’s top entertainment companies, its concert tour roster boasts the likes of The Black Eyed Peas and Justin Bieber and is behind some of the globe’s most famous music festivals.

It approached Ipswich Borough Council about hosting East Coast Live off the back of the authority’s successful track record of staging events such as JLS’ Chantry Park gig last year, several One Big Sundays and Westlife there in 2004.

Next year’s music extravaganza, the result of six to 12 months talks between IBC and AEG Live, will be the biggest ticketed concert Ipswich has ever hosted.

“The appearance of stellar names like Jessie J on the bill proves we can attract the biggest and the best to our town. Chantry Park is well known to leading promoters and music fans alike and I am sure this will not only be a great success but the first of many regional concerts to come here,” says councillor Bryony Rudkin, IBC’s culture portfolio-holder.

It’s one of only three chances to see all these acts together next year; the other two being at Sunderland’s Stadium of Light and Weston-Super-Mare Beach.

Tickets for the Ipswich concert go on sale at 10am this Saturday from the Regent box office on 01473 433100 and www.ipswichregent.com plus www.uklive.co.uk, AXS.com, Seetickets.com, ticketmaster.co.uk and Nationalboxoffice.co.uk.
