ENJOY some chestnuts and tunes at the Steamboat Tavern this weekend.

Web Care Takers are hosting a night of family entertainment at New Cut West pub on Sunday, with music from traditional vocal group The Kettle Girls and Christmas stories by renowned storyteller John Row.

As well as roast chestnuts, there’ll be soup and mulled wine.

“At this time of year so many of our friends are frazzled by frantic shopping, burnt out by endless reality television finals and fed up of hearing repetitive Christmas pop songs on the radio,” says promoter Andrew Laws.

“We wanted to give everyone a night off from the chaff of Christmas. This Sunday’s event will be a chance for folk to relax, forget about the turkey and trimmings and enjoy a peaceful night out of family entertainment.”

Admission is 4 in advance or 5 on the door and the price includes soup and roast chestnuts. Tickets are available from The Steamboat Tavern. Doors open at 7pm for an 8pm start.
