England may have lost, but everybody on stage Saturday were winners.
Led by musical director Andi Hopgood, the 27-strong community choir and five-piece band were definitely in the party spirit. Helping us get in the dancing mood were members of Jigzaw Dance Creationz.
Cleverly arranged to showcase individuals and the whole group, we were soon clapping and singing along to hits from the likes of the Isley Brothers and Jimmy Cliff to Adele and Michael Jackson.
With a mix of Motown, soul, gospel, reggae and pop numbers the decent turn out was sure to find something to enjoy. Pharrell Williams’ Happy was a great way to end the show, summing up the mood of the crowd as we left.
