Why not take a trip to the circus?

Circus Hassani in Southwold brings together hand balancing acts, foot juggling, aerialist acrobatics and family-friendly comedy.

Performances take place all this week - with shows at 2pm and 5pm on Thursday and Friday. At the weekend, there are shows at 5pm only.

Rummage under the logs and in the woodland leave litter and see what you can find.

Become a marine explorer and look for clues along the beach as to what might be living in the sea.

This suitable for the whole family and the session takes place from 2pm to 4pm.

St Edmundsbury

Discover the secret world of the bugs and beasties that live in Clare Castle Country Park. Join the park rangers on a mini beast hunt then have a go at making your own insect house to take home.

This session takes place at the Ranger’s Office, Clare Castle Country Park from 10am to midday and costs £6 per child.

It is suitable for children aged five to 12, under eight’s must be accompanied.

Old clothes and sensible footwear advised.

Find out all about butterflies and moths at the education centre, just inside the woods off Felsham Road, Bradfield St George, near Bury St Edmunds, IP30 0AQ.

You can see the moths in the moth traps overnight as well as take part in activities, crafts and fun games.

Ipswich

Go head hunting around Ipswich.

Walk around the town and hear tales of fearsome gargoyles, blood curdling legends and the magical unicorn.

The cost is £3 each and the walk starts at 10.30am, lasting around two hours.

At Gainsborough Sports Centre you can try rollerskating from 3.15pm to 4.45pm

There will be a disco atmosphere and skates are available to hire but take your own along if you have them. Suitable for ages five upwards. Cost £2.60.

From 10.30am to midday there is a team games session and bouncy castle for children aged five to nine, costing £2.60 each.

There is also family rollerskating at Maidenhall Sports Centre tomorrow.

Suitable for age five and over, running from 3.30pm to 5pm and costing £2.60 per person.

At Whitton Sports Centre there is a Commonwealth games Extravaganza from 12.30pm to 2.30pm, for five to 16 year olds. This costs £4.20 each.

From 9.30am to 11.30am there is a racket sports session for seven to 14 year olds, costing £3.10.

Or let your pre-schoolers enjoy the soft play area between 12.30pm and 3.30pm, cost is £2.10 each.

And from 3pm to 4.30pm there is a free basketball roadshow for under 14s delivered by Ipswich Basketball Club.

A weekend of commemorative events is planned at the Church of the Holy Innocents, Lamarsh, near Bures

At 7.30pm on Friday there will be a concert of songs and poems in English and German.

On Saturday, there will be an exhibition of family treasures and at 10.30am on Sunday there will be a Centenary Eucharist for Remembrance
