For music fans 1967 and the Summer of Love is an almost-mythical era – and the sounds and sights of that year were brought back to the Ipswich Regent by a truly talented six-piece band.

With music varying from the Mamas and Papas and The Byrds through to The Doors and Jimi Hendrix (courtesy of Dylan) this was a great chance to see the music you love on your 60s playlist come to life with a real live band.

Lead vocalist Rachael Wood really stole the show with two fantastic versions of Janis Joplin classics, Piece of My Heart and Mercedes Benz (which was sung a capella) but the whole band made a great sound.

The Regent was not full – but those who did turn out thoroughly enjoyed the evening and created a great atmosphere.

All played in front of a backdrop showing events of 1967 – especially the Vietnam War – the whole evening was a great nostalgia-fest of great pop and rock music that brought the Regent to life.
