Ipswich Jazz Festival, St Peter’s by the Waterfront, June 22 - June 24

Head down to Ipswich’s third jazz festival this weekend. There will be a mix of live music, film, art and musicians’ workshops for you to enjoy. The jazz artists will be local, national and international, ranging from the young and up-and-coming to the more established and well-known. On the Friday you can expect Italian group Rumba De Bodas who are celebrating their tenth anniversary tickets for this event are £17.50. Saturday brings singer and pianist Ian Shaw, saxophone players Brandon Allen and Vasilis Xenoupoulos supported by the Chris Ingham Trio to the stage to wow the crowds. Great East Swim, Alton Water, June 23

Whether you’re looking to try an open water swim for the first time, or you’re searching for the ultimate challenge, the Great East Swim offers you a selection of distances to suit your ability. The event is a great day out for swimmers, families and spectators. There will be farmers’ markets, musical entertainment and swim distances ranging from 1/2 a mile right up to a 10k. Tropical Rainforest Experience, June 23, Holywells Park

Do something different with your family this weekend. Kinetic Adventure are hosting a rainforest experience at Holywells Park where you will be able to meet and handle some minibeasts. There will be a tropical rainforest marquee where you can discover the sights, sounds and smells of the rainforest. It is essential that you book in advance you can do this be calling 01473 433990. Ipswich Pretty Muddy 5K, June 23, Trinity Park

The race for life but with a muddy twist. Spend your weekend having a laugh with friends and family while raising funds for Cancer Research. Race for Life Pretty Muddy is a 5K muddy obstacle course, where you will scramble over the A-frame, crawl through the mud pit and lots more. The route will run around the show ground where there will be plenty of cheering points for spectators. Children’s Rave, June 23, Revolution Ipswich

Mini partygoers can take to the dancefloor this week at a family friendly rave at Revolution. Parents and children will have the chance to let loose in a fun, safe and unique environment. Mini ravers can expect glow sticks, UV face painting, bubbles, balloons, confetti, giant parachutes, ball ponds, and more. Parents will be relieved to hear that you won’t be dancing along to children’s songs but to tunes by some of the UK’s best DJs.

Feel like you are in a fairy tale at Greshams on Saturday. The unicorn party will be an indoor and outdoor event for children which will be hosted by Rapunzel & Sleeping Beauty. Cadet Racing Club, Anglia Indoor Karting, June 24 and every Sunday until December 2

Is your child interested in picking up a new hobby? Why not see how they get on with motorsports. Club members meet every Sunday morning at 9.15am and have exclusive use of the track from 9.30am to 11.00am. During the club’s session, all aspects of kart control and racing technique are taught in a safe and friendly but competitive environment. It is £10 for an annual membership and then costs £26 per weekly session.
