Still not ready to let it go? You’re in luck, Disney’s Frozen kicks off Ipswich’s open air cinema day.
Ipswich Town Football Club has teamed up with Ipswich Borough Council to screen four films on the practice pitch on July 4 as part of this year’s Ip-art festival.
Frozen (PG) is first at 10am, with film-lovers encouraged to sing-along while dressed as their favourite characters and enjoy a magical bouncing snow flake.
It will be followed by family favourite Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (U) at 12.30pm and Avengers Assemble (12A), one of my personal favourites, at 3.45pm. The final film is The Bodyguard (15), which starts at 8pm.
Prices vary depending on whether you go for the premium reserved tickets with deck chairs, family tickets, children’s and concessionary tickets or day passes. There are also discounts for ITFC supporters who quote their customer numbers when booking.
The Ip-art festival fun also includes Heart of England Strings and special guest Lucy Kay, from Britain’s Got Talent, who perform at Picnic in the Park from 7.30pm on July 3.
Christchurch Park will echo with the sound of Bach and Coldplay to Handel and Lady Gaga; rounded off with a fireworks finale.
Entrance for the concert is via the Soane Street/Christchurch Mansion gates or from Fonnereau Road. Remember to bring your own folding chairs, cushions or rugs.
Ipswich Music Day takes over the park from noon to 8pm on July 5, with nearly 70 acts - ranging from cover bands, tribute acts, original bands, choirs, world music and instrumental groups - playing across nine stages.
One of the largest free one-day music events in the country, it usually attracts around 40,000 music-lovers. The line-up includes Hot Tramp, Off the Wall, the 4130s, Benjamin Bloom, Primo Nelson and Moon Street.
