Germany’s comedy ambassador for teutonic jolliness pops by the Gippeswyk Avenue theatre, home of Red Rose Chain, April 14-16. You could call it a work-in-progress but the stand-up comedian prefers the term masterpiece-under-construction.

Either way, he’s sure to hit the Mark - with tickets already selling fast. Contrary to the picture Henning assures me there will be no magic tricks or attempts at clairvoyance.

Red Rose Chain’s Jo Carrick said: “We’re incredibly excited to be hosting such a popular and brilliant bloke! Pleeease get your tickets soon as we know they will sell out. It’s especially exciting as he’ll be trying out new material no-one’s ever seen before! The Avenue is an intimate setting absolutely perfect for comedy.”

This November 20 the theatre welcomes Mitch Benn’s Don’t Believe A Word.

“I’m a sceptic. But don’t take my word for it. Or indeed anybody’s. For anything,” say Benn, summing up the basic premise of the critically acclaimed show.

The idea is to make you laugh and think a bit too as he debunks myths, exposes nonsense and grapples with the very nature of knowledge itself extolling the virtues of an evidence-based approach to life with amusing consequences and, of course, a few songs along the way.
