A Suffolk folk quartet will be performing a Scottish-themed charity concert celebrating the poet Robert Burns.
The “Rabbie Burns and Beyond” concert will see Shingle Street Folk Group members Stephen Harding, Chris Pearce, Mike Tynddale-Biscoe and Jane Burn joined by guest performers including a member of the Suffolk Poetry Society.
Members of the band are inviting audiences to the 11th Century St Botolph’s Church in Culpho, north of Ipswich, on Saturday, January 27, for an evening of “song, good food and good company”.
It comes two days after the traditional Burns Night, which is typically held on January 25, the date of Robert Burns’ birthday.
Funds raised from the concert, which starts at 7.30pm, will support Home Start charity and the church.
Tickets, including refreshments, cost £10 and are available by emailing the band or by calling 01473 738324.
