Strictly Come Dancing star Danny Mac is coming to Ipswich.
The Hollyoaks heartthrob, whose stage credits include Wicked, Legally Blonde and On The Town, will play Joe Gillis in Sunset Boulevard.
The hit musical visits the Regent Theatre from March 5-10.
It’s a story of romance and obsession, with a score by Andrew Lloyd Webber. Faded silent screen movie goddess Norma Desmond entraps impoverished screen-writer Joe until his love for another woman leads him to try to break free, with dramatic consequences.
Bryony Rudkin, Ipswich Borough Council’s deputy leader, said: “This is another fantastic treat for Regent audiences from across the region and the news Danny Mac is joining the cast makes it even better. I’m confident Sunset Boulevard will be another big hit and underlines the fact that you come to the Ipswich Regent if you want to enjoy the best shows in East Anglia.”
