An Ipswich Town fan and YouTuber will be trying his hand at singing when he releases a new humorous Christmas song, centred around Father Christmas being a Town fan.

The song 'Santa is a Tractor Boy' will be the first song Ipswich Town YouTuber, Alex Griffin has released.

Mr Griffin, who likes to get "embarrassed" fans to sing on his channel asking for their favourite chant, is turning the tables on himself.

He said: "I've done karaoke a couple of times, but this is a different ballgame.

"I think it will be alright, hope it will be alright.

"It was all a bit out of the blue. I partnered up with a songwriter from Ipswich who released a song last year and I thought it was a really good song.

"So I teamed up with him and he wrote the song, and he said it was a good idea to do a Christmas song and here we are."

The 23-year-old has made a name for himself since starting YouTube, gaining over 38,000 subscribers, and creating YouTube his full-time job.

He said: "It feels surreal.

"I have only taken YouTube seriously the past two years and I've been quite fortunate.

"When I look at Portman Road and think that in that 30,000 seater stadium, I have more people following my channel, it's mind-blowing."

A music video has been made to accompany the song, which will be released on Mr Griffin's YouTube channel.

The video will feature a variety of festive items.

Mr Griffin's dad, who features heavily on the channel, will dress as Santa and sit on a tractor, with filming happening around Portman Road ahead of home matches.

The Youtuber said: "It's aimed at the younger generation of Town fans, but I'm hoping older fans and not just Town fans, but other football fans will listen to it and enjoy it."

There is also merchandise coming out ahead of the song's release and will be available via Mr Griffin's Twitter and YouTube.

The song is hoping to be released on Alex's YouTube channel on December 12.
