Ipswich: Henley House host classic car show with 31 cars

Henley House in Ipswich played host to 31 classic cars dating back to the 1930s.

The event, put on by East Coast Retros, once again brought happiness to those living at the Ipswich care home.

Organiser Hannah Carpenter, said: "It brings real happiness and it is something nice for them to look at and remember old cars, some they would have had themselves growing up.

"We've been able to talk to the residents too, and they have showed me round their rooms and my children are here playing and talking with them.

"It's just really nice to provide this because it makes everyone feel good."

Cars such as Morris Minors, Ford Anglia's and Mercedes' among many others turned up to please the residents, who were able to have pictures taken in the cars and relive their passion for cars.

The oldest car in attendance was a 1933 Ford model Y called Dolly, which will be turning 90 on Monday.

The Austin that was used in the classic British TV drama Heartbeat was also there.
