An Ipswich family has upped the Christmas magic for their latest light display which will run in loving memory of a greatly missed daughter and her grandparents.
Last year, Julie and Neil Stout of Purdis Farm covered their home with over 28,000 lights in tribute to their daughter, Jessica Mai.
Jessica Mai Walden died in the early hours of May 9, 2021, at the age of 28, just two days after giving birth to her second daughter, Orla.
Jessica left behind her husband, Jack, and two daughters, Orla and Elsie.
This year, Mrs and Mr Stout go even bigger and will feature approximately 35,000 to 40,000 lights around the house from December 1 until January 5.
The lights will be also a tribute to Mrs Stout's parents, Jacqueline and William, who were cared for by the St Elizabeth Hospice team.
Mrs Stout said: “We want to thank everyone at St Elizabeth Hospice who has supported us, and our Christmas lights is our way of showing our gratitude. We may not think it, but it will probably be a cause that touches us all, or others we love, at some point in our lives.
“St Elizabeth Hospice was a cause close to the heart of our daughter, Jessica Mai. She was a big kid with Christmas so, as hard as it is to see the lights so bright and cheerful, it brings us and others joy to see the kids’ faces light up.
“The lights display will include a special surprise this year for all to enjoy and will feature approximately 35,000 – 40,000 lights!
"Thank you to everyone for their continued support and hopefully we will see a few new faces this year, showing their support for St Elizabeth Hospice.”
The hospice encourages other families to 'shine bright’ and show their love for their local hospice by creating their own fundraising festive light displays in aid of the charity.
All funds raised will go towards the hospice’s Be a Star Christmas appeal.
