Data revealed has shown a breakdown of primary schools across Suffolk and how many parents listed each school as their preferred choice for their child's education.

The figures released by the Department for Education, shows the amount of schools that were oversubscribed with the amount of children wanting to join them as a preferred option.

These include the number of times a school was put as a first, second or third preference.

The most preferred school in Suffolk was Britannia Primary School and Nursery in Ipswich, which was named as a preferred school 189 times by parents.

This was the same at Gorseland Primary School, which was listed 145 times as a first, second or third preference.

60 places were offered to the 60 students who had it listed as their highest preference.

Sidegate Primary School had 96 children list it as their preferred first choice school, but due to the popularity of the school, 90 places were offered out, meaning six missed out.

Parents are advised to put three preferences, with 95.78% of children receiving a place at their parents first preference when applied on time.
