Permission for a new restaurant and coffee bar is to be considered by Ipswich Borough Council.
Vilson Restaurant and Coffee Bar has applied to sell alcohol to customers, offer late night refreshments and occasionally host performances of live music.
The new bar will open at 48-52 Norwich Road in Ipswich, the home of the former Bathstore, which closed at the end of November 2021.
Ipswich Borough Council's Licensing and Regulatory Sub-Committee will come together on March 6 to discuss the application.
The recommendation is to grant the licence, with a view to promoting the licensing objectives, giving weight to the representations.
Representations were made by Suffolk Constabulary, Public Health Suffolk, Ipswich Borough Council's environmental protection team and the licensing team.
Following consultation with the applicants, they have agreed to reduce the hours of operation and accept additional conditions on the license if it's granted.
