These Suffolk villages were named some of the best places to live in the UK and there are so many things to love about the area.
The Shotley Peninsula in the south of the county is made up of villages such as Shotley, Pin Mill, Chelmondiston and Holbrook.
It was recently featured in a prestigious list by The Sunday Times which shared the best places to live in the UK.
Judges from The Sunday Times visit locations across the county and factor in schools and transport, broadband speeds, culture and access to green spaces.

Here is what we love about the area and why we agree it is among the best places to live.
The landscape
There are many scenic views and landscapes on the peninsula as it sits between the River Orwell and the River Stour.
It is a peaceful atmosphere of picturesque countryside and woodland in Areas of Outstanding National Beauty.
There are many places to just sit and take in the stunning views including the footpath at Holbrook Creek which gives you a gradual panorama of the sky and river.
The food
Suffolk is full of award-winning and popular food spots but some of the best can be found on the Shotley peninsula.
Suffolk Food Hall in the north part of the area near the Orwell Bridge has previously been named one of the best foodie hotspots in the country.
Its cafe and restaurant serve produce from local farmers which can also be purchased in the shop.
If you're looking for a pub to enjoy a pint in then go to The Butt and Oyster in the hamlet of Pin Mill, which has a garden ideal for a pitstop when on a summer walk.

The walks
Walking along one of the various trails is a great way to take in the views and catch a glimpse of the Suffolk wildlife.
Shotley was the first place in Suffolk to receive the 'Walkers are Welcome' accreditation.
The site of the rivers as well as Alton Water also makes it a paradise for new and experienced sailors.
