A wheely good time is guaranteed this August as the town’s popular cycling weekend returns.
Cycling fans of all shapes and sizes can find something suitable throughout the weekend, August 30-31, with activities for spectators as well as those looking to get on their bikes.
The conclusion of the British Cycling Elite Road Race series will come to town, while families can enjoy a Sky Ride along traffic-free routes. This year will also see a new sporting challenge for more capable cyclists, with a 100-mile route starting and finishing at the waterfront.
The weekend’s events are supported by Ipswich Borough Council and British Cycling, and are sponsored by Ipswich-based digital marketing agency Crafted. Alasdair Ross, the council’s deputy culture and leisure portfolio holder, said: “I hope as many residents as possible will get out on two wheels.”
