As continued roadworks take place across Suffolk and Essex this week, use our handy guide to see how routes across the A14 and A12 will be affected.

One lane closed on the B1106, A134 in Bury St Edmunds:

Delays are to be expected along the A134 Fornham St Martin road as one lane will be closed to carry out drainage works from July 3 to July 5.

A14 Westbound overnight lane closure:

Works continue on the A14 westbound near Junction 45 one lane will be closed overnight between 8pm and 6am this week to carry out horticulture works.

Survey works on the A14 Eastbound, Junction 50, near Newmarket:

The Eastbound entry slip road from Junction 50 will be closed overnight between 8pm and 6am from July 3 to July 7 for Highways England to carry out inspection and survey work on behalf of Aecom. The closure is expected to affect those travelling overnight between Junction 50, Junction 52 and Junction 51.

A14 Orwell Bridge overnight closure continues this week:

The Orwell Bridge will continue to remain closed overnight between 8pm and 6am until July 8. For diversion routes follow the A1156.

Two day road closure in Northgate Street, Colchester:

Northgate Street will be closed for two days between July 10 and July 11 as re-surfacing works are carried out. For diversions routes follow St Peter’s Street.

Seven day road closure in Chelmsford town centre:

Tindal Street in Chelmsford will be closed this week from July 3 to July 9 to install new signal equipment near Half Moon Square. For diversion routes follow Market Road.

Seven day road closure near Braintree starts this week:

Mounts Farm Road, Great Saling, along Pods Lane towards Rayne, near Braintree, will be closed from July 6 to July 13 for re-surfacing. Diversion routes should follow the B1256 towards Blake End.

Delays likely on the A12 towards Wrentham due to signal works:

Signal works will take place on July 5 on the A12 London Road, Frostenden, near Gypsy Lane. Temporary traffic lights will be in place.

Ranelagh Road works and road closure in Ipswich:

Road closure continues along Ranelagh road on the junction of Ancaster Road and Princes Street as Anglian Water excavate road to install 200m of pipe main. For diversions head south on Princes Street towards West End Road.

Work by Anglian Water to repair fire hydrants long Ranelagh Road, in Ipswich will take place from July 5 to July 7. Other work by Anglian Water, which will take place from July 2 to July 4 will involved a lane closure along the A1156, Salthouse Street, near Chapmans warehouse.

Foundation Street Ipswich, road closure due to gas works:

The A1022, Foundation Street, will be closed on July 2 for one day as gas works are carried out to the rear of Tacket Street. For diversions follow Orwell Street onto St Helens Street.

Resurfacing in Felixstowe:

Works to resurface the A154 road along Walton Avenue in Felixstowe will continue into next week with the estimated competition date on July 7.

Stop and Go boards are currently in place across the length of Walton Avenue.

Road closure in Shotley for electric works:

Roadworks by UK Power Network are due to begin along Old Hall road in Shotley from July 3.

Water and drainage works in Framlingham:

Roadworks by Essex and Suffolk water are due to start on July 3 along Fairfield Road in Framlingham, up to the Brick Lane junction.

There are also separate roadworks in Framlingham on July 3 along the B1119, Mount Pleasent, where temporary traffic lights will be in place.

Two day road closure in Wenhaston for bridge repairs:

Roadworks from July 3 to July 5 are due to take place in Wenhaston along Holton Road. The closure will affect Southwold Road to Old Chapel Bridge as a new parapet is installed and repairs to the bridge are carried out.
