A YOUNG man was killed and two female passengers taken to hospital following a car crash in Lowestoft earlier today.
The 22-year-old victim from the town was in a Peugeot 306 involved in the single vehicle accident, in Corton Road, at just before 2pm.
A police spokesman said two female passengers were taken to the James Paget University Hospital, in Gorleston, with non life-threatening injuries.
The road was closed for several hours while traffic police carried out investigations into how the gold-coloured Peugeot 306 crashed.
The victim's family have been informed of his death, but police have yet to reveal his identity.
Witnesses to the crash should contact PC Paul Smith at the Suffolk police serious investigation team on 01473 613500. Police have also asked for anyone who saw the car being driven before the crash to contact them.
