It's every child's dream to get a visit from Santa Claus on the night of Christmas - but imagine if you had more than 600 of them in your home.

Norwich woman Jackie Berry is a self-confessed Santa nut and has collected hundreds of models of him over the past 25 years.

The 50-year-old's Father Christmas collection began after she inherited some from her grandmother, and she has been adding to it ever since.

The collection includes Santa-styled toilet seat covers, hot water bottle covers and cuddly Santas, as well as ones made from wood, glass and pottery. She and her husband Roger, 54, also has a Lladro model which they bought for £100, a Royal Doulton and a Swarovski.

Mrs Berry, who is retired, said: “A few pieces came from my grandmother when she died, and then we went to Germany together and got some from there, and since then it has just grown. We started going skiing in America and Canada and bringing back suitcases full.”

The models will be around the house until January 6, when the mammoth operation to wrap them all in bubble wrap and put them in boxes in the loft will begin. This usually takes the couple around two weeks.

Mr Berry, who is also retired, said: “I quite like them. They brighten the place up and give you something to look at. It's amazing because you always notice new things about them.”
