POLICE have today launched a murder inquiry following the death of a 53-year-old man who attacked at his home in Essex. A member of the public called police on Thursdayafter it was spotted that a door of a house in Alderwood Drive, Abridge, near Romford, had been forced.

A member of the public called police on Thursdayafter it was spotted that a door of a house in Alderwood Drive, Abridge, near Romford, had been forced.
Officers found a man with serious head injuries. He was taken to Queen's Hospital, Romford, but died yesterday.
Essex Police believe between three and five people could have been involved in the attack.
Detective Superintendant John Quinton, who is leading the investigation, said: “This is an appalling attack on a man that has left his family devastated.”
