POLICE today named the man who died in a fire in a flat in Felixstowe town centre.
Officers said the victim was Adrian Miller, 54, and his family have been informed.
A post mortem will take place today and then an inquest will be opened and adjourned to allow his family to hold a funeral.
Three fire crews were called to Mr Miller's top floor flat - above the Citizens' Advice Bureau at the corner of Ranelagh Road and Orwell Road - on Monday lunchtime.
Firefighters had been alerted after neighbours heard a smoke alarm, and firefighters had to break in to the building.
They found Mr Miller's body in the flat.
Neighbours said Mr Miller, who was divorced, worked as a self-employed driving instructor.
He had only recently started the job after being employed for some time at the Morrisons supermarket in Cavendish Park.
