Homeless Jamal Bakhit, 24, will appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court in London accused of killing Rahmona Ahmedin.
The 23-year-old victim was discovered on the A1301 at Hinxton, Cambridgeshire, at about 3.30am last Wednesday. A post mortem revealed she had been stabbed.
Ms Ahmedin, a Swedish national, lived in Peabody Square, Islington, north London.
She was reported missing last Saturday after it was believed she was killed at her home.
