BT have announced that former health secretary Patricia Hewitt is to become a non-executive director of the telecoms giant.Ms Hewitt, who also held the post of trade and industry secretary, will take up the position next week.

Ms Hewitt, who also held the post of trade and industry secretary, will take up the position next week.
BT chairman Sir Mike Rake said: "Patricia brings deep experience of government affairs, politics and public policy."
Lloyds TSB chief executive Eric Daniels is also joining BT's board as a non-executive director.
