A HEROIN user has been fined £100 after being caught with a wrap containing the drug concealed in a trouser leg.
Benjamin Wright, of Downside Close, Ipswich, pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of diamorphine, namely heroin, on March 13.
During yesterday's hearing, South East Suffolk Magistrates' Court heard that when police searched the 21-year-old they found the drug in his left trouser leg.
He later told officers he had found the wrap of heroin and had smoked half of it.
Wright, who occasionally works as a painter and decorator and said he now has a methadone script as a heroin replacement, was given the fine by District Judge David Cooper and ordered to pay £60 costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
