A JURY has this afternoon convicted a man of two murders.
After more than nine hours deliberation, the panel at Ipswich Crown Court found Tony Holland guilty of the killings of Suffolk 20-year-old Bill O'Connor and Danny Hathaway, 44, who lived on a travellers' site in Corby.
Holland, 23, of Desborough, Northamptonshire, stabbed Mr O'Connor to death in the Hardwick Shopping Centre in broad daylight on April 27 last year.
The jury unanimously found him guilty of the murder of Mr O'Connor, who died after suffering eight stab wounds to the head, heart, eye and neck, despite open heart surgery performed by a doctor from West Suffolk Hospital, Bury, on the roadside.
Holland, a member of the travelling community who had denied both charges, was found guilty by majority verdict of murdering Mr Hathaway, whose body has never been found
