A DEVASTATED Suffolk family have paid tribute to a loved son who died in motorcycle crash.
Father-of-one Darren Sparkes, 28, died in a collision with a 4x4 vehicle near his home in Great Cornard, Sudbury, on Saturday night.
His mother Paula Sparkes said yesterday she would always remember him as “her baby” who had grown into considerate and polite father, brother and friend.
His Honda motorcycle was in collision with a Mitsubishi vehicle on the A134 approaching Sudbury close to the Wyvale Garden Centre at 7.05pm.
Emergency services attended - closing the road for five hours - but the electrician, who was youngest of three children, was declared dead at the scene.
Mrs Sparkes said they had grown especially close over the past three years since he had returned to live with his parents at Maldon Court, Great Cornard.
“He used to love all machines,” she said. “As boy he would take things like radios and rebuild them and when he was older he would mess around with cars. I would always call him my baby - he was my six foot baby.”
