CORONERS in Leicestershire are today appealing for help in tracing relatives of a man found dead in Market Harborough.

It is believed Maurice King, 45, was born and grew up in Ipswich, but had lived in the East Midlands town for the last ten years.

He was found dead at his home on May 6.

Mr King lived alone and a search for his next of kin has so far proved fruitless.

Leicestershire coroner's officer Beverley Spiers said Mr King's family could still be living in the Ipswich area and she appealed for them to make contact.

“We believe he has lived in Market Harborough for quite some time, probably at least ten years,” she said.

“But social workers have indicated that Mr King's family are from Ipswich and that they could well still be living in the town.

“We need to find his next of kin as quickly as possible. He is only 45, so there could be parents, brothers, sisters and even children out there.

“We would appeal for anyone who knows Mr King to get in touch.”

It is still unknown how Mr King died, although a post mortem to determine the cause of death is set to be carried out shortly. Police have said there is nothing suspicious about his death.

Those who are related to Mr King, or who can help the coroner's office in its attempt to locate his next of kin, should call 0116 2252534 or 0116 2252535.
