Cecil Mitchell, 68, was arrested by police on suspicion of murder after his 41-year-old son, Simon Mitchell, died following head injuries sustained at the home they shared in Clopton Gardens, Hadleigh on Sunday evening.
A post-mortem has confirmed there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding Simon Mitchell's death.
Former paramedic Mr Mitchell has been released without charge and details about the death have been passed to the coroner's office.
