A WOMAN has been taken to hospital today after her car crashed into a ditch near Haughley.
The woman's car collided with some roadworks on the Bury St Edmunds-bound carriageway of the A14 before ending up in a ditch about 7.55am.
Police said she was taken ill at the wheel, causing the vehicle to veer off the road.
She was unconscious when paramedics arrived on the scene and was then taken to West Suffolk Hospital. It is not yet known how serious her injuries are.
Some traffic delays were caused as motorists slowed down to look at the accident but the road was not closed.
The car will be recovered later today.
