AN unemployed man has been charged over a string of bomb threats which forced supermarket giant Tesco to close 14 stores - including one in Suffolk - earlier this month, police revealed today.
AN unemployed man has been charged over a string of bomb threats which forced supermarket giant Tesco to close 14 stores - including one in Suffolk - earlier this month, police revealed today.
Hertfordshire Police, which is leading the multi-force investigation, said that Philip McHugh, 51, was charged last night with two specimen offences of blackmail and two of making bomb hoaxes,
No one else is being sought.
McHugh, of Milton Avenue, Clitheroe, Lancashire, will appear at Stevenage Magistrates' Court today.
The incidents, on July 14, brought chaos and closure to stores around the country, including the Tesco in Bury St Edmunds.
