VISITORS from far and wide travelled to the Suffolk Show today. What was their verdict on the attractions?
Claire Coulson, 39, of Leavenheath, said: “We come to the Suffolk Show every year. It's a lovely day out and there's lots to see and do. We live in the country and we are particularly interested in the cars and the trade stands.”
Dean Coulson, 41, a postman from Leavenheath said he took the day off to visit the show. He said: “I like looking at the car stands and I like to see the heavy horses working. It's a great day out and I like the traditional side of it.”
Claire Beeson, Hazel Drive, Ipswich an account manager was visiting the show with her daughter Hollie. Mrs Beeson said: “It's nice to be involved with the local farming community. We have a farming background and Hollie is here to see a friend who is showing sheep. There's lots to see and do at the Suffolk Show.”
Hollie, aged ten, said: “I am looking forward to looking at the horses and watching the showjumping.”
Zia Roshier, 24, of Wetheringsett said: “I competed here last year and I'm interested in the horses. I'm looking at the Mountain and Moorland showing horses in particular. There's such a variety and it's a place where traditions are kept. However it is a bit expensive, it cost me £21 to come today.”
Stephanie Brooks, 23, of Stowmarket said: “I come every year, it's a great day out and there's a lot to do. There's always a nice atmosphere but it is too expensive.”
Pauline Baker, 29, of Mendlesham said: “I am competing in the Mountain and Moorland Horse section and I'm hoping to put in a good performance. Standards are very high at the Suffolk Show and it is a hotly contested category.”
