FIREFIGHTERS across Suffolk had a busy afternoon today as they tackled four blazes across the county.At 2.52pm crews were called to a wooden clubhouse in Violet Hill, Stowmarket, which had caught fire under suspicious circumstances.
FIREFIGHTERS across Suffolk had a busy afternoon today as they tackled four blazes across the county.
At 2.52pm crews were called to a wooden clubhouse in Violet Hill, Stowmarket, which had caught fire under suspicious circumstances.
Three fire engines from Stowmarket, Needham Market and Elmswell attended the blaze in the single storey building.
Roof tiles were taken off as a safety measure and the blaze was put out by 4.37pm.
An investigation will be taking place from tomorrow to find the cause of the fire.
At 3.15pm crews were called to Ranelagh Road, in Ipswich, where a house had caught fire.
The fire was thought to be small and was out on arrival.
Crews attended Cambridge Drive, in Ipswich, at the same time to a derelict block of flats which were 20 per cent alight.
The fire, which is thought to be suspicious, was put out by 4.30pm.
Firefighters also attended a barn fire in Upper Layham, near Hadleigh.
