IPSWICH'S Christchurch Mansion will be closed between Monday, March 5, and Monday, March 12, for a spring clean.
Ipswich Borough Council is cleaning, improving displays and setting up a new exhibition on Suffolk artists in time for the Easter holidays.
The new permanent artists exhibition will be in the Suffolk Artist Gallery, featuring major artists such as Sir Alfred Munnings, Philip Wilson Steer and Charles Keene.
Councillor Judy Terry, responsible for arts, culture and leisure, said: “We are keeping the temporary closure as short as we can and we are all looking forward to an even better mansion when it re-opens.”
During the closure period, Fonnereau's cafe will provide a hatch only service for visitors to Christchurch Park.
The mansion will reopen on Tuesday, March 13.
