A MOTORIST has died in hospital today following a crash at Wherstead.
The 41-year-old died in the early hours of this morning at Ipswich Hospital after suffering multiple injuries in a car crash at about 9pm on Tuesday on the A137 at Wherstead when the man's Audi car flipped over and landed in a ditch.
Police closed the road at the A14 roundabout, near the Suffolk Ski Centre, as emergency workers attended to him.
The road remained closed while accident investigators launched an examination.
However, the cause of the crash is not yet known.
News of the man's death came as a five-month-old boy continued to fight for his life at Addenbrooke's Hospital today.
The baby was flown to the hospital, which specialises in head injuries, after a crash between a car and a van on the A1120 at Stowupland on Wednesday.
He is described as “critically ill” and his mum, who suffered only minor injuries in the collision is said to be at his side.
An eight-month-old boy and a man in his 50s who were also injured remain at Ipswich Hospital.
Both are believed to have suffered chest injuries but the extent of their injuries is not known.
